RANDIE BAKER

FOUNDER/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR,
SEATTLE CIVIC DANCE THEATRE

Artistic Director Randie Baker founded the Seattle Civic Dance Theatre school in June of 1983. Ms. Baker has been dedicated to the professional instruction and presentation of ballet and other dance forms throughout the Seattle area. In 1985 Ms. Baker founded the nonprofit dance company, Seattle Civic Concert Dancers. She believes dance training to be an excellent education and that everyone who desires to dance should have the opportunity to study.

 

Ms. Baker has danced professionally and given her services to the area. She has been a member of the Dorothy Fisher Concert Dancers, with performances with the Seattle Opera, Bainbridge Light Opera Association, The Lyric Company of Seattle, Olympia Junior Programs, Seattle World’s Fair with New York City Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet as well as Spotlight Dance, Choreography Etc. and was an original member of the Northwest Regional Ballet Festival. She has studied with American Ballet Theater, New York, Rosella Hightower’s Centre de Danse International, Cannes, France, and The Dance Center, London, England. In addition, she has worked with Olympic Ballet Center of Edmonds, Gloria Hudson’s Dance Center of Kirkland, Chehalis Ballet Center of Centralia and Performing Company of Pioneer Arts of Sequim as guest teacher, dancer and choreographer.

 

Ms. Baker currently is retired and enjoys rv traveling with her husband and her two yorkies Star and Sparkle.
